Some little time ago someone close to me had a baby son. The joy it brought this family had to be seen to be believed. The father had long ago given up on the idea of ever having children and the way this little man has transformed his father is indeed heart warming. This poem is dedicated to that family and all those who take the pathway of parenthood. There is no greater joy.
Live well,
Ollie Lind
Through his eyes
As life begins and spirit wakes
all manner of joy a baby makes.
A burbling gurgling sense of joy
the infant is a baby boy.
As mother sees her newborn son
she weeps for joy, a life’s begun.
To her bosom drawing close
the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
For her child does represent
hope for future ever sent
forward to another place
the future of the human race.
Simple pleasure, pride and joy
envelopes Mother and her boy
her life she feels is now complete
she will help her child to meet
the life ahead, it is so long.
He will stand out amongst the throng,
so much to live for and achieve
for we all need to believe
that through his eyes we see the need
to banish poverty and greed.
Life unfolds the secret way
a child can turn night into day.
With a twinkle of his eye
he will charm the passer by,
turning dismal to delight
engender feelings that we might
all feel the warmth of the sun
away from sorrow we all run.
See no need to chastise
look at life through his eyes.
