There are some people I know who tell me they are not creative at all. I sigh to myself when I hear that because I believe we all have the capacity to create. It may be relationships or business or a family as a father or mother. It doesn’t have to be a painting or literature.
To those people I can never explain the joy you feel when you create something. I am lucky beyond words. I have my poetry, which I share at every opportunity. I am working on (hopefully) the final draft of a novel, and I write training and life skills materials for my other site (howcani.com.au) We also record dvds and I will shortly be recording some cds.
Someone asked me the other day why I make myself so busy, writing virtually every day, forever churning out material. Well, the following poem may go some way to answering that question.
Please enjoy your vision of the universe.
Live Well

The Artist
To bring to life a subject new,
the artist always toils,
he paints in many coloured hue
in pastels, ochres,oils.
Sometimes the subject’s unalike
the thing that plain folks see,
because the chord the artist strikes
differs to you and me.
He represents emotions new
in ways so bright and clear
we can only watch the view
the artist holds so dear.
Poetry is painting too,
but in a different way,
our colours are the words we use
on images so gay.
Art is art for its own sake,
be it word or oil
impressions we all try to make
no beauty to despoil.
