Have you ever wondered why so many
take their life so seriously?
Hoard each moment, don’t waste any;
grasping time deleriously.
As if living were to be consumed
like food and drink, drunk to the full.
Never the past to be exhumed,
lest memory makes them fearful.
Living should be a combination,
present, past and future fare.
Learn from the past lest consternation
lay the bones of life all bare.
The present is for all unique,
to share or hold to our own.
To feel, to sense pleasure’s peak
each moment is our very own.
The past should guide our future fate
the good and bad in equal stance.
Life’s past lessons can open gates
giving lie to circumstance.
Best of all is future view
anticipation’s keenest look.
For life and love in fullest hue
arid waste is babbling brook.
