Leonardo Da Vinci
It never ceases to amaze me at the contradictions of man. We are capable of creating great structures and incredible music and art. Yet we let millions starve and events of barbarity abound.
Some time ago I was thinking about why this could be so. The following poem is a perspective you might wish to share.
Live well,

Genius
I sometimes seek to see the wonder
and find a sense of disappointment,
midst the death, disease and plunder,
where is beauty, love, discernment?
But from the ashes of despair,
a wispy smoke of hope arises.
Beauty rises here and there,
creative sun again arises.
The muse of music lives again,
pure and clear, without a flaw.
We float, released from natural ken,
as music opens heaven’s door.
A poem that makes us catch our breath,
and captures instants in our thinking.
How can the poet know of death
with humour, leering, hearing,winking?
A story written just for me,
I know it must as I can feel
the flowering wood, each tortured tree.
It makes me feel that I should kneel.
What is it causes man to be
good and evil simultaneous?
That binds us tight and sets us free,
to call one name, I’d call it genius.
