Time to reflect.
I really enjoy sharing my poetry and views on life and the universe with you. It’s great to be able to share what you see and feel about life.
So often much of what we see is ugly and distorted. We see the moral decay of our modern society; the evil of drugs and the fact they turn decent human beings into something less than human, greedy for sensation, grasping for the material things that mean nothing in themselves.
Yet, we need to see the evil and degradation in order to appreciate the good that surrounds us in this world.
I am reminded of a quote; I’m not sure who said it and I’m not even sure of the exact words. It goes something like this:
“The only way for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”
Every time we turn our backs on injustice or wrongdoing, every time we shrug and say, “It’s not my business.” we contribute to the evil that exists today.
So, each of us has a responsibility to do something to make life and living better. Where better to start than with ourselves?
For many years I have taught people how to learn and tried to assist, through living skills talks, people to gain skills to better live their lives. I’m not one of your rich gurus, full of talk about ‘if you just buy the latest buzzwords you will be fabulously successful.’ (I have no problem with people becoming rich as long as they provide proper exchange in return.)
There are many people, Bob Proctor, for example, and Dennis Waitley to name just a couple, who inspire people and deserve whatever success they achieve.
I have learnt a great deal in my life, searching for answers to the problems we all face. I have particularly learnt from children and those I have taught. The one question we all face is “How can I?”
I opened my website, howcani.com.au to supply some of the answers to that question. In my forty years of teaching and training (I started in 1966) I have developed a number of strategies that work in such areas as learning, public speaking, time management and selling, to name a few.
We have filmed a number of DVDs on these subjects that offer simple, effective strategies to overcome difficulties in these areas. I will shortly be releasing an e-book which I will probably call “the HowCanI book of answers.”
If you want to look at a different approach to developing your skills, knowledge and abilities, or you really want to handle your problems and achieve your goals in a logical and ethical fashion, please go to the website, howcani.com.au and have a look.
I’d love to share the answers I have found with you.
Live well,
Ollie Lind
PS: Some exciting news. I am almost at the end of a research project I have been working on for three months. I’ll say this, I have lost, so far, fifteen kilograms (33 lbs) in three months. That mightn’t sound too much, but it is almost 18 % of my body mass. Now the story isn’t about just losing weight, it’s about how to take on a project and achieve permanent success.
I have the answers I believe, and I will release all the details when I have formulated it in a logical format that you will find easy to use.
See you at howcani.com.au
